Museum Dust, 2024
Perfume dispenser, perfume made from museum dust, 20 × 5 × 5 cm

A perfume from dust that was taken from the vacuum cleaners used
by the Fries Museum’s cleaning crew. The perfume is released in the exhibition space
by a scent dispenser.

The museum visitors and the artwork are joined, in a sense, in the museum’s vacuum cleaner dust. By distilling this dust into a perfume, Bekirovic emphasizes that the borders between objects are always porous, regardless if they’re bodies or works of art.
